Unveiling the Moonbase digital asset exchange
Recently, a new digital asset exchange named Moonbase appeared on the market. In addition to a website of the same name, this exchange has an official application available on the two major app stores, the App Store and Google Play.
On its official website, Moonbase positions itself as Vietnam's pioneering digital asset trading platform with a mission to bring 100 million Vietnamese into the digital asset era. The founding team is introduced as blockchain experts who have worked at major institutions such as Coinbase and Google.
The entire core technology of the system is claimed to be built and fully mastered by Vietnamese engineers. The operating infrastructure and data centers are all located in Vietnam to ensure autonomy and information security in accordance with current regulations.
The platform commits to strict compliance with international audit standards during operation. Every process is independently audited to ensure transparency and absolute safety for users' assets in the future.
As it is in the stage of awaiting a pilot license, Moonbase is currently taking an approach through a simulated education application.
The trading and storage simulation system allows users to practice virtual asset buying and selling strategies in a simulated environment. All these operations serve only learning purposes, with no real financial element or risk of asset loss whatsoever.
A source told TheLEADER that although Moonbase is already present on the app stores, it is mainly still at the mock-up stage. The features of a complete digital asset exchange are still being refined by the technical team to meet real operating standards.

Who is behind Moonbase?
It is known that the Moonbase exchange is provided by Moonbase Technology Company Limited, headquartered in Hanoi. The company was founded in September 2025, with Mr. Huynh Le Thang as its legal representative.
Mr. Thang is also the legal representative of several entities such as the Blockchain Technology Research Institute and Quantax Technology Company Limited.
Earlier, in August 2025, PVCombank partnered with Moonbase to hold the launch ceremony for a trial version of a digital asset trading platform.
The bank's leadership said at the time that, according to the roadmap, the exchange would be put into operation once the legal framework was gradually completed.
By early this year, in January 2026, Petroleum Securities Joint Stock Company (PSI) – a subsidiary of PVCombank – entered the digital asset market by contributing capital to Vietnam Digital Assets Joint Stock Company.
Vietnam Digital Assets Joint Stock Company is currently one of five enterprises assessed by the Ministry of Finance as having valid applications to participate in the pilot for digital asset and crypto asset exchanges.
Vietnam Digital Assets Joint Stock Company has an initial charter capital of VND1,000 billion. Of this, Sun Group is the largest shareholder, contributing VND640 billion, equivalent to a 64% ownership ratio.
The remaining shareholders include: Innovation Information Technology Services Company Limited (ITS) holding 35% of capital and the remaining 1% belonging to Petroleum Securities Joint Stock Company (PSI). The company's General Director and legal representative is Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Huyen, born in 1983.

Sun Group's controlling capital contribution to Vietnam Digital Assets Joint Stock Company is seen as a strategic move to build infrastructure for the digital economy. With its network of tourists and a wide-ranging service ecosystem, owning its own crypto asset exchange will help the group be proactive in integrating new payment and financial solutions.
Besides Vietnam Digital Assets Joint Stock Company, the entities with valid applications to participate in the digital asset exchange pilot also include Techcom Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (TCEX), VIX Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (VIXEX), Sacom Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (SCEX, formerly LPEX), and Vietnam Thinh Vuong Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (CAEX).
